Senior Javascript Engineer

We're looking for an experienced Lead Javascript Engineer (React, Reduxx, Nodejs, CSS, HTML) to join our growing team to support the ongoing development of our industry leading booking platform. You will help drive our ambitious product roadmap, improve the performance and stability of our systems and develop software engineering best practices across the organisation.

You'll be responsible for:

  • Delivering innovative web functionality using React.js as our primary frontend technology.
  • Building new features with consideration for performance, testability and extensibility.
  • Creating Unit, Integration, and End-to-end automated tests
  • Translating designs and wireframes into high-quality code working closely with the UX/UI team to deliver a best-in-class user experience
  • Building cross-platform, cross-browser reusable apps, components, and libraries for future use
  • Identifing and communicating front-end, UX, and UI best practices
  • Working on our in house booking and reservation system, building new, client specific bespoke features whilst helping to improve the overall architecture for our diverse client base. 
  • Involvement in technical discussion and become a subject matter expert.
  • Encouraging innovation and help support an environment to help build an award-winning travel software solution.

You and your skills

  • React.js using Reduxx, preferably 3 years’ worth of commercial experience
  • Solid understanding of HTML5+, CSS3+, Javascript 
  • Strong proficiency in the React framework and knowledge of all main concepts, like https //reactjs.org/docs/hello-world.html, including JSX, Function and Class Components, State, Context and Hooks
  • Experience with popular React data structures, context, and state management tools
  • Experience working with LESS/ SASS
  • Appreciate UX/UI and user usability
  • Production experience with Linux / Unix environments
  • An understanding of Scrum/Agile methodology
  • Experience with web based secure payment software or ticketing platforms would be a bonus
  • A passion for wanting to develop the best and most ground-breaking software you can.
  • Good attention to detail and testing.
  • Comfortable working as part of a team
